Post-doctoral researcher

I received my PhD in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am currently a MindCORE Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn. My research focuses on how attention to statistical patterns in social environments guides inferences and behaviors. I ask questions such as: What mechanisms underlie social learning? How do individuals monitor and organize variability in social contexts? How do learners resolve uncertainty in social environments? I design experiments that use theory and techniques from cognitive science to explore issues related to socio-emotional development. You can read more about my research at: ristaplate.com
